Let the Day Drift West
One evening in August, on the road from Belleville back to Toronto, it was the turning of summer into autumn, when sunset arrived a little earlier each day. The light outside the car window stretched longer and longer, as orange and violet intertwined across the sky—almost within reach, yet always slipping away the very next moment.
For a traveler, a sunset is but a brief encounter, leaving only its warmth and afterglow in the eyes. Much like many moments in life, we long to hold on at the edge of parting, yet also wish to bid farewell to these fleeting instants with gentleness.
